Termination Procedures

PSINet Inc. requires a thirty (30) day written notice to terminate an initial or subsequent service contract.

The listed Account Contact or an Officer of the company must follow PSINet's Termination Procedures as outlined in the above Termination Procedures link:

PSINet Owned Equipment

Full Service customers use PSINet owned equipment. This equipment must be returned to PSINet.

When returning PSINet owned equipment please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Customers have (30) days from the effective date of termination to return equipment to PSINet. If the equipment is not returned with thirty (30) days of the termination effective date, you will be billed for the equipment.

  • Please return all equipment to the following address:

    PSINet
    Attn: Customer Returns

    Sterling, VA 20166

    Please send this equipment to PSINet via a carrier that will provide you with a tracking number for your shipment (i.e. UPS, FedEx, Airborne Express, etc.). You should retain this tracking number in your records. It will be used to assist us with finding your equipment and crediting your account should it become lost or missing in transit. The tracking number is also considered your proof of shipment.

  • All equipment being returned must have the following information with it:

    • Customer Account Number(s)
    • Customer Name
    • Address
    • Contact Name
    • Contact Phone Number
    • List of equipment being returned

    Include this information on a typewritten sheet of paper. Include one copy in a packing list envelope on the outside of the box and one copy inside the box with the equipment itself. This information should be provided with every separate box that is shipped so that all equipment is accounted for.

    Should you return equipment without this information, your equipment will be returned to you. PSINet will not accept any customer equipment returns without this information.
