Routing with Proteon GlobeTrotter 60 for Dedicated Access Service

Troubleshooting Guide

After the telco has come to your site and installed the circuit, they will work with our Network Operations center to test the line and verify that it is ready for usage. When this occurs you will be notified via fax. Please keep in mind that even though the telco has come to your site and installed the demarc, the other end of the circuit may not be complete.

Verify that the lights on the CSU/DSU are correct:

The TD/RD/CTS/CD/RTS lights should all be Red/Red/Green/Green/Green respectively and the LOS/OOS/ERR/TM should NOT be lit.

If DTR is off or Red, make sure that the connection to the router is good.

If any of the LOS/OOS/ERR lights are on, make sure that the connection from the CSU/DSU to the Telco demarc is seated well.

If the TM light is on, there is a loop in the line. This should go back out to the Telco to be tested (or have the loop dropped.)

If the line has to be turned out to the Telco for testing, make sure that the router is disconnected from the CSU/DSU.

OpenROUTE GT Routers with 10/100 Autosensing Hubs

When connecting to an autosensing hub or ethernet card you will need to change the etherport setting from autosense to rj-45.

Telnet to the router and type the following commands:

*TALK 6

config>NETWORK 0
Ethernet interface configuration

ETH config>RJ45-TYPE utp (10baset)

ETH config>

Hit Ctrl p and restart
