Routing with Proteon GlobeTrotter 60 for Dedicated Access Service

Simple Network Monitoring Protocol

The Proteon Globe Trotter 60 comes preconfigured to allow SNMP polling with the community name of public.

To change this, log into the router.
Enter Configuration mode by entering the talk 6 command:
* talk 6

Enter the SNMP configuration mode:
config> Protocol SNMP

First Remove the public community:
SNMP> delete community public

Next add the new community name:
SNMP> add community {new community name}

Type exit to get back to config mode:
SNMP> exit

Type Control-P to get back to the * prompt.

Then type restart for the changes to take effect.
