BayStack Instant Internet

Routing with BayStack Instant Internet for Dial Access Service

Setup Instructions

Instant Internet arrives securely packaged in a protective box.

The Instant Internet unit is an IBM-compatible PC with all required hardware and software preinstalled.

The unit contains no floppy or CD-ROM drives. It has connectors for video, keyboard, mouse, etc. However, none of these peripherals are required, since all configurations are done from a Novell workstation.

The box also contains a power cable and an Ethernet cable (RJ45 to RJ45).

Instant Internet ships in three available options.

  • For Dialup configurations, Instant Internet ships with an internal 28.8k modem and is packaged with a telephone cable (RJ11 to RJ11). Wiring Diagram - Dialup.

  • For ISDN configurations, Instant Internet ships with an internal 128k ISDN card and a built-in NT-1. This option ships with an ISDN cable (RJ-45 to RJ-45). Wiring Diagram - ISDN.

  • Instant Internet also ships with a dual-Ethernet configuration for use with an external router. This configuration has not been tested or certified by us. Note, however, that Instant Internet units shipped for use with us may have the optional Ethernet card installed.

To install the Instant Internet unit, just connect it to power, to a Novell LAN, and to a dialup analog or ISDN phone line. Then apply power to the unit and begin software configuration.
