Routing with the Netopia 640 for LAN-ISDN Service

Changing the Dial Up Phone Number

Use the arrow keys to move the cursor within the menus. With the field highlighted you may change it, then hit enter to accept. Esc will cancel or if you're in a sub menu it will return you to the previous menu.

From the Main Menu choose:

Easy Setup...
then select NEXT SCREEN to reach the following screen:

Connection Profile 1: Easy Setup Profile Connection Profile Name: Easy Setup Profile Number to Dial: 19103332366 Remote IP Address: 38.1.1.1 Remote IP Subnet: 255.0.0.0 PPP Authentication (Security)... PAP Send User Name: LI0CSG Send Password: ******* Receive User Name: Receive Password: PREVIOUS SCREEN NEXT SCREEN

Using the arrow keys, move to the phone number field, make your change and hit enter. Select NEXT SCREEN on each menu until you see RESET DEVICE. Select it and hit enter. This will save your change(s) and restart the router.

Forcing the Farallon Netopia to Dial

From the Main Menu select:

Statistics, Utilities, Tests

Statistics, Utilities, Tests Statistics General Statistics... Event Histories... Routing Tables... Utilities Date and Time... Establish WAN Connection... Disconnect WAN Connection... Ping... Upgrade Feature Set... Restart System... Revert to Factory Defaults... Tests ISDN Switch Loopback Test...

Select the profile with the gateway of 38.1.1.1 and hit [return]:

At the next screen, you should see the Netopia dialing. It should look like this:

Call Status Profile Name -- PSINet Connection State -- Dialing Channel B1 State -- Acquiring Channel B2 State --

Hit ESCAPE to return to previous menu.
