Routing with the Netopia R2121 (Dual Analog)

Slow Connection

The Netopia R2121 is currently being shipped out with the default setting for k-flex. The router will need to be enabled to v.90:

1. xmodem transfer from the CD (supplied with router) to the R2121.
2. TFTP to Netopia and download the file:
   • Go to Quick Menus,
   • select TFTP,
   • TFTP Modem firmware
   • type: tftp.netopia.com
   • filemname: (all caps) NM-V90CA.BIN
3. This should solve the problem of a slow connection speed.

Ascends MultiLinkPPP

• We have received confirmation from Netopia that Ascends MultiLinkPPP is supprted by the R2121.

Reset the Router Configuration to Factory Defaults

• There is a contact slot on the bottom of the Netopia R7100. Inserting an object made of metal (a paper-clip seems to work best) into this slot, thus bridging the contacts, will restore the router to its factory defaults.
