Changing the Dial Up Phone Number

Log into the router via telnet and issue the following command:

  (tcp/ip)ACCTID>config show

This will list the configuration of your router. Look for:

  dialup modem0 demand_backoff **PHONE NUMBER** XXX

This includes the phone number the router is dialing and the idle time out (XXX) in seconds. To change the phone number retype the entire line:

  (tcp/ip)ACCTID>dialup modem0 demand_backoff **PHONE NUMBER** 600

Then verify the phone number and idle timeout:

  (tcp/ip)ACCTID>config show

If the new phone number and idle timeout are correct save the configuration:

  (tcp/ip)ACCTID>config save

Then reboot the router:

  (tcp/ip)ACCTID>reboot

The boot up process takes approximately 2 minutes.
