Routing with Cisco 2500 Series for Dedicated Access Service

Setting Up SNMP

To configure your Cisco 2500 series router to allow us to do SNMP monitoring you must set the community name of the router and we will test to make sure we can poll your router.

To do this:

  1. Log into router.

  2. Go into enable mode.

  3. Go into config mode.

  4. Enter the following line where community name is the password that allows access to the router for SNMP:

    snmp-server community <community-name> RO

  5. Type CTRL-Z to exit config mode.

  6. Type 'write memory' to save the configuration.
