Ascend Pipeline 50

Routing with Ascend Pipeline 50 for LAN-ISDN Service

What You Need

The Ascend Pipleline 50 router is certified to work with our LAN-ISDN service. The Ascend Pipeline 50 comes with one BRI interface (with an integrated NT-1) as well as a one console port and one Ethernet interface (with AUI or UTP media).

There are are two models of the Ascend Pipeline 50 certified for our LAN-ISDN service. The model number is written on the bottom of the router.

  • Model P50-1UBRI has an integrated NT-1
  • Model P50-1SBRI requires an external NT-1

For 2B access the router must have version 4.4B or greater of the operating system.

You will need the following cables:

  • One RJ11 straight through cable to connect to the Demarc. (This is included.)

  • You will also need the appropriate cable to connect the router up to your local area network. If you are connecting the router to a hub, you will need a 10baseT cable. (This is NOT supplied.)

  • If you are going to connect the router directly to a workstation, you must use the provided cross-over ethernet cable.

Note:

  • The Ascend will also come with an DB9 Male to DB25 Female adapter to connect an out of band console to configure the router.

  • You will also need an RS232 serial cable to connect a vt100 terminal (or vt100 terminal emulator) as a console to do configuration and management.
