Configuring Spry's Internet In a Box
Double click on the Configuration Utility
Click on Manual Setup
Modem Settings Comes Up -
- Choose the Communications port your modem is using
- Choose the type of modem you are using by clicking the down arrow
next to the modem name and scrolling through until you see your modem.
- Choose the communications port speed you wish to use. Start
as high as possible and bring the speed down until you are able to
sustain a connection.
Choose Tone or Pulse for your dialing.
Click on OK

Dialer Setup is the next screen that comes up
Dialer Section
- If you normally need to dial a 9 to get an outside line, put a 9 in
Dial Before
Network Settings Section
- Your IP Address should be 0.0.0.0 . Your IP address will be
dynamically assigned each time you connect to the POP (Point of Presence)
- Name Server 1 38.8.219.2
- Your Host Name is TO BE LEFT BLANK
- Netmask is 255.255.255.0
- Name Server 2 38.8.220.2
- Domain Name is psinet.com
Click on Timers and configure those to your preferences
Click on OK in the Timers Window, Click on OK in your Dialers/Network Window

Default Hosts is the next Window that comes up
Air Mail Section
- E-mail user name is your account number (i.e tn********)
- E-mail Password is the passowrd assigned by Remote Access
- POP3 Email is pop3.psinet.com
- SMTP Relay Host is smtp.psinet.com
- Email address is tn*******@psinet.com
Default Internet Hosts Section
The Air Mosaic and the Air Gopher can be any host that you choose,
however until you become familiar with negotiating the Internet we
suggest you use the sites
- Air Mosaic http://www2.psinet.com
- Air Gopher gopher.psinet.com
- Air News usenet.psinet.com
- Network File Manager is left BLANK
Click on OK
This brings you back to the Configuration Utility Menu
Click on Exit

These are the steps that had to be taken to configure a customer who called
and said that he had the Spry software. There is another step that had to be
taken for the Beta version I was given access to.
Double click on the Dialer Icon
This brings up the Dialer Window
Now go Network
- Click on Login Setup
- Choose None
- Click on OK or Exit
- Click on Network Interface
- Choose PPP
- Click on Settings next to PPP
- Enter your Account Number and given Password
This should do it!!!
