Usenet News: NNTP PVC Service for Leased Line AccountsThe Internet is growing at an incredibly fast rate, offering information on a growing number of topics covering a variety of interests. With all of these billions of data bits flowing over phone lines, one begins to realize the importance of prioritization. Not all of the information on the Internet is of equal importance. Many organizations know what their Internet interests are and want to be able to access quality information at the fastest rate possible. Prioritization of Internet traffic provides quality service to customers by matching the service to the customer's particular needs. We have the technical skills and experience to put the customer in control of the Internet. Leased Line customers have the power to prioritize Internet traffic on their leased line and obtain the highest quality of service possible today for Internet users. Usenet News Permanent Virtual Circuits (PVCs) provide the bandwidth management today's businesses and organizations need to prioritize Internet traffic on their leased lines. Traditional methods of providing Internet Access do not provide any special treatment for Usenet News traffic. The customer's leased line carries all TCP/IP applications along with NNTP. As a result, news competes with a company's work for bandwidth. The unfortunate reality is that Usenet is busiest during a business's busiest hours! Leased Line customers with a dedicated news PVC (NNTP PVC or Usenet PVC) can limit the amount of bandwidth Usenet can devour and give higher priority to other more important TCP/IP applications. Usenet News PVCs make customers local to the news servers. This guarantees the most efficient transmission of data between the server and the client. Our Frame Relay Network uses Frame Relay switching which creates a "virtually direct connection" between a source and destination. The number of router "hops" (or router stops) are greatly reduced, leading to the fast and efficient data exchange expected by today's Internet users. We are the only provider that can offer this quality of service and bandwidth management. Unlike other Internet Service Providers, we own and maintain our whole Frame Relay Network. |
