Setup Instructions: Netscape Navigator 3.0

E-Mail Client Configuration for Remote Access and PSINet e-Mail Accounts

The following screen shots will show you how to set up your copy of Netscape to send and receive e-mail. The first step is to click on Options, then Mail and News Preferences. Click on the tab at the top that says Servers, and you will see a screen like the following.

The important fields are the incoming and outgoing mail servers. In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server field, enter smtp.psinet.com for a Remote Access account, or smtp.domain.com for a PSINet e-Mail account. In the Incoming Mail (POP3) Server field, enter pop3.psinet.com for a Remote Access account, or psimail.domain.com for a PSINet e-Mail account. The POP3 User Name is your login name, not your e-mail address. If you have a Remote Access account, your news server is usenet.psinet.com. If you have a PSINet e-Mail account, your news server address will depend on your region: refer to our support Web pages to find the correct address.

Click on the Identity tab and you will see this.

The information on this screen is fairly self-explanatory: your name, your e-mail address and your reply-to address, which is the same. Finally, enter your company, if applicable. Then click OK and click on the small envelope in the bottom right-hand corner of the Netscape window, which should bring the mail program up and retrieve your mail.
