Setup Instructions: Eudora Light

E-Mail Client Configuration for Remote Access and PSINet e-Mail Accounts

Eudora is a very powerful e-mail client and comes in two versions, Eudora Light and Eudora Pro. Eudora Light is available as a free download. Eudora Pro, however, must be purchased. The following screen shots of the setup screens may vary slightly, but these should help you set up the Eudora Light program to work properly. You can get to the setup screen by clicking on Tools and then Options, or Special, then Settings.

The POP Account is important. You should enter pop3.psinet.com for a Remote Access account, and psimail.domain.com for a PSINet e-Mail account.

This is not your e-mail address; your e-mail address will be username@psinet.com for a Remote Access account, and username@domain.com for a PSINet e-Mail account.

Next click on the Personal Info tab.

Notice the difference between the POP Account and the Return Address. The Dialup username should be left blank. Click on the Hosts tab.

The POP Account remains the same. The SMTP server must be specified: smtp.psinet.com for a Remote Access account, and smtp.domain.com for a PSINet e-Mail account. The Ph: and Finger: fields should remain blank.

Click on Checking Mail.

It is important on this Options screen to check on Save password so that you don't have to enter it every time you check your mail. The other settings in the Options window are preference settings, which you should review and select based on your preferences.
