DNS: named.ca File
This file contains information about the root name servers. This allows you to initialize cache of the domain name servers.
Since this list may be updated frequently, you may want to check once a month. The file can be obtained by anonymous FTP to rs.internic.net in the /domain/named.ca file or by using Gopher at rs.internic.net and looking under the sub-menu Internic Registration Archives.
An example file looks like:
