Larscom Terra Uno CSU/DSU

Routing with Larscom CSU/DSU for Dedicated Access Service

The Larscom Terra Uno is one of our certified CSU/DSU's for Fractional T1/T1 Dedicated Access service.

To setup the Terra Uno CSU/DSU do the following:

  • Mount the unit.
  • Connect an RJ45 cable from the T1 demarc to the line port on the Terra Uno.
  • Connect the EMI suppressor.
  • Connect the router via the v.35 cable to the back of the Terra Uno. If you use the x.21 or RS449 interface you must select the interface type.
  • Connect the power supply.
  • Run the Line Learn Funtion

To activate the Line Learn Function:

  • Press the Select and Run buttons simultaneously until the LEARN LINE light turns red.
  • Then press the RUN button. The LEARN LINE light will start blinking.
  • When it turns to solid green press the SELECT and RUN buttons again to go to normal operation.

E1 GREEN E1 Mode
OFF T1 Mode
SELF TEST GREEN Test pattern being sent; pattern sync, no errors
BLINKING GREEN Test pattern being sent; pattern sync, bit errors
RED Test pattern being sent; no pattern sync
OFF No test pattern being sent
LOOP AMBER Loopback in effect within TerraUno
CLOCK - Not currently used
DATA(PORT)

or (SPEED)*		 GREEN Normal operation at data port
RED Router or other device is not talking to data port
OFF All T1/E1 channels configured as Idle
LINE(LEARN) GREEN Receiving a framed signal from the T1/E1 line
AMBER Receiving Yellow Signal from the T1/E1 line
RED No framing sync on signal from the T1/E1 line
OFF No signal from the T1/E1 line
UNIT(#)* GREEN Normal operation
BLINKING RED Software download in progress
RED Start-up (boot) in progress—unit failure if this state continues
