Astrocom CSU/DSU

Astrocom SP100

Routing with Astrocom CSU/DSU for Dedicated Access Service

The Astrocom NX-1 and the Astrocom SP100 are certified CSU/DSU's for T1/Fractional T1 service. The following is a sample configuration session for 256k service.

The control port on the front face of the unit is where you connect your console. The usual settings will do, 9600 8NE 1 stop bit on the terminal emulator. No null modem is required, and the console port is set for DTE. Once connected, you will see the configuration menu and since the CSU comes configured T1 ready, all default settings are correct.

The only change required for fractional T1 service is to enable (or disable) the appropriate number of channels. The following sample session takes you through the configuration for 256k service.
